Maritime Heritage – Virginia

A Chapter of the Archeological Society of Virginia

Providing opportunities for diving and non-diving volunteers of all skill levels to participate in a statewide effort to protect
and study underwater archaeological sites in Virginia.

An all-volunteer organzation

Established in October 2016 by members of the Archeological Society of Virginia (ASV), the Maritime Heritage Chapter investigates maritime and underwater archaeological sites, not only regionally, but throughout Virginia.

Get involved!

Ever see shipwrecks on TV and wish you could see them in real life? How about putting your hands on historical artifacts you’ve only ever read about in textbooks? Want to volunteer to help us out and learn some of Virginia’s history? Come join our group where you can have the chance to do all of this and have fun at the same time!
